Cam is a village and civil parish in the Stroud district of Gloucestershire in south‑west England, lying by the River Cam at the foot of the Cotswolds escarpment. It grew up around 19th‑century mills and the textile trades and still shows a mix of traditional stone buildings and later industrial housing; the reopening of Cam and Dursley railway station gave the area better links to Bristol and Gloucester, while the nearby M5 makes commuting straightforward.
Locally there’s a lively community feel with shops, pubs, sports clubs and village events, framed by good walking country on the Cotswold edge. The parish today combines light industry and small businesses with a commuter population, so you get both rural character and practical amenities within easy reach of larger towns.
