Sarratt is a small village and civil parish in the Three Rivers district of Hertfordshire, England, sitting on the edge of the Chiltern Hills and overlooking the Chess Valley and upper reaches of the River Chess. It has a compact historic core of timber-framed and brick cottages, a village green and a parish church, and remains within comfortable commuting distance of London.
Locally the community is active and village life is centred on a village hall, pubs and small shops; the surrounding countryside combines mixed farming, woodland and chalk streams popular with walkers and wildlife enthusiasts. With medieval origins and much of the centre in a conservation area containing several listed buildings, Sarratt retains a distinctly rural character despite its proximity to larger towns.
