Fishbourne is a small village and civil parish on the north-east coast of the Isle of Wight, sitting on the banks of Wootton Creek just to the west of Ryde. Its shoreline gives it a distinctly maritime feel: a ferry terminal links the island with Portsmouth and local boatyards and moorings help support a modest marine economy, while much of the parish remains residential and agricultural.
Historically the area has long acted as a crossing point to the mainland and there are several older buildings and attractive creekside walks; the wildlife and quiet lanes make it popular with walkers and birdwatchers. Community life is village‑centred, with small local clubs and seasonal events reflecting the Isle of Wight’s broader tourist rhythm.
