Cheriton is an electoral ward on the north‑western edge of Folkestone within the district of Folkestone and Hythe in Kent, England. Once a separate village it was absorbed as the town expanded and today the area mixes Victorian terraces with mid‑20th century suburban housing, served by local shops, schools and community centres.
Its position close to the Channel Tunnel terminal and the M20 gives the ward a commuter feel, with rail access via nearby Folkestone West station and good links towards Ashford and London; it also sits alongside the historic military area at Shorncliffe. Community life includes grassroots football at the ground on Cheriton Road and a varied social mix of long‑standing families and newer residents attracted by transport links and comparatively affordable housing.
