Boxley is a large civil parish on the northern edge of Maidstone in Kent, England. It contains a mix of villages and suburban neighbourhoods such as Sandling and Walderslade and stretches up onto the chalk slopes of the North Downs, so there’s a pleasing contrast between rolling countryside, ancient woodland and commuter housing.
The area is historically rich - most famously the ruins of Boxley Abbey - and offers notable greenspaces such as Boxley Warren with long-distance routes like the North Downs Way and the Pilgrims' Way running nearby. Economically it combines agriculture, small local businesses and a commuter population drawn to Maidstone and London, while village halls, pubs and churches keep a lively community feel.
