Coxheath is a semi-rural village and civil parish a few miles to the south‑east of Maidstone in Kent, England. It sits on higher ground with a mix of farmland, pockets of ancient common and suburban housing, and functions today largely as a commuter community for Maidstone and further afield, while retaining a village centre of shops, pubs and community facilities.
Historically the area is best known for the late 18th‑century military encampment on the common, where large numbers of troops were trained during the wars with Revolutionary France, and that legacy helps explain the open greens and layout. The village has an active social life centred on local clubs, a busy village hall and sports teams, alongside small businesses and light agriculture in the surrounding countryside, giving it a blend of historic character and modern commuter living.
