Teynham is a village and civil parish in the borough of Swale, in Kent, England. It sits on the old A2 between Sittingbourne and Faversham, with farmland sloping down to the tidal creeks and salt marshes of The Swale, giving a mix of agricultural and coastal habitats on its doorstep.
With medieval roots the parish grew around farming and later commercially important fruit‑growing and hop gardens that supplied nearby towns and London; orchards and nurseries remain a visible part of the landscape. Today it combines a rural economy with commuter connections via the local railway station, a parish church, pubs and community groups, and a handful of historic buildings that reflect its long local heritage.
