Cleckheaton is a town in the borough of Kirklees in West Yorkshire, England, lying in the Spen Valley between Bradford and Huddersfield. It grew strongly in the 19th century around the woollen textile industry, and you can still see Victorian civic buildings and former mill architecture that speak to that industrial past.
Today Cleckheaton is largely residential with a mixed local economy of light industry, independent shops and services, and an active community life including sports clubs and local events. Good road links to the M62 make commuting straightforward, while a strong local identity within the Spen Valley keeps neighbourhood ties and traditions alive.
