Barrowford is a compact village in the borough of Pendle, Lancashire, England, set at the foot of Pendle Hill and threaded by the towpath of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. Its position gives easy access to countryside walking and striking views, while the canal and its stone bridges provide a pleasant, historic centre to the settlement.
The village grew through the Lancashire textile trade and still shows many stone cottages and former mill buildings, though its economy is now largely residential with local shops, pubs and light industry. There’s a strong community feel, informed by local history (including the wider area's Pendle witches legacy), outdoor recreation and conservation of its distinctive 18th- and 19th-century character.
