Thurcaston is a small village and civil parish in the Charnwood district of Leicestershire, England, lying on the rural fringes northwest of Leicester. It sits close to notable landscape features such as Bradgate Park, Cropston Reservoir and the woodlands around Swithland, so walking and countryside recreation are a big part of local life.
Historically a farming community, Thurcaston has a long history reflected in its parish church, St Nicholas Church, and links with the Reformation preacher Hugh Latimer who served in the parish. Today it remains largely residential with a village hall, primary school and a mix of historic cottages and newer homes; many residents commute into Leicester while the village retains an active community and a conservation-minded, semi-rural character.
