Twycross is a small rural village and civil parish in the district of Hinckley and Bosworth in Leicestershire, England, set amid rolling farmland near the county boundary with Warwickshire. It keeps a village-centred feel with a parish hall, local pubs and older buildings, and many residents commute to nearby towns such as Hinckley and Coalville.
The village is best known for Twycross Zoo, internationally respected for its primate collection, conservation and education work; the zoo is a major local employer and visitor draw and has shaped much of the area’s modern economy and community activity while promoting wildlife research and outreach.
