North Somercotes is a village and civil parish in East Lindsey, Lincolnshire, sitting on a patch of higher ground at the edge of the low-lying marshes close to the North Sea. Its position between dunes, grazing marsh and flat arable countryside gives it a distinct, slightly windswept coastal character and makes the surrounding area notable for birdlife and other coastal wildlife.
Historically the settlement grew from seasonal and farming activity and retains a strong village community with a parish church, primary school, village hall and small local businesses; the nearby wartime airfield at North Coates has left a visible legacy. Today the local economy is a mix of agriculture, tourism linked to the coast and seaside towns, and services that support the surrounding rural hinterland.
