Castle Bytham is a compact village and civil parish in South Kesteven, Lincolnshire, England, set on a limestone ridge at the head of the little valley carved by the River Tham. The low, stone-built streets are dominated by the earthworks of a Norman motte-and-bailey castle and a medieval parish church, giving the place a distinctly historic, almost picture‑postcard character against the surrounding rolling countryside of Kesteven.
Historically the village supported small-scale quarrying and other rural industries, but today it is largely residential with farming, local services and a lively community life - village hall activities, sports clubs and seasonal events - and remains popular with walkers and birdwatchers for its footpaths, hedgerows and pocket nature sites close to market towns such as Grantham and Stamford.
