Woburn Sands is a small town and civil parish in the Borough of Milton Keynes, in the ceremonial county of Buckinghamshire, lying close to the border with Bedfordshire. It occupies a distinctive sandy ridge that gives the town its name and grew up alongside the Marston Vale rail line, with a station linking it to Bletchley and Bedford, and sits within easy reach of the historic village of Woburn and Woburn Abbey.
The place retains a village feel with a compact high street of independent shops, cafés and pubs, and a strong local community that enjoys green spaces and occasional events. Economically it functions largely as a commuter settlement for Milton Keynes and London, but its sandy geology, railway history and proximity to country attractions give it a distinctive local character.
