Blo' Norton is a small, quietly rural community in the Breckland district of Norfolk, England, lying close to the county boundary with Suffolk and not far from the market town of Diss. The village nestles in the valley of the River Little Ouse and is best known for the nearby wetland reserve, Blo' Norton and Thelnetham Fen, a protected SSSI that attracts botanists and birdwatchers for its rare fenland plants, dragonflies and marshland birdlife.
Historically a tiny medieval settlement, the community retains a village church and a largely agricultural character, with arable farming and local stewardship of the surrounding countryside. The name is a local curiosity and the area’s quiet lanes, river meadows and conservation work give it a strong sense of place that draws walkers and nature lovers as much as it sustains a close‑knit local population.
