Wheatacre

Wheatacre is a tiny, rural parish in South Norfolk, Norfolk, in eastern England. Set on the fringe of the Broads, the landscape is low-lying and characterised by arable fields, drainage ditches and wet meadows that support a surprising variety of birds and other wildlife.

Historically the settlement grew from medieval agricultural roots and today remains sparsely populated with scattered farmsteads and a small parish community. The local economy is still largely farming-based, with some residents commuting to nearby towns, and its tranquillity, seasonal wildlife and closeness to waterways make it popular with walkers and birdwatchers.
