The village of Habrough sits in rural North East Lincolnshire, not far from the southern shore of the Humber Estuary and within easy reach of larger centres such as Immingham, Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Barton-upon-Humber. It retains a largely agricultural character of fields and hedgerows, with a mix of older cottages and later housing, and has a local railway station that links the village into the surrounding towns and the Humber ports.
Historically a farming community with roots stretching back centuries, Habrough still shows that past in its parish church and some older buildings; today many residents commute to work in the docks, industrial estates and service centres nearby while village life centres on modest local amenities, community groups and the quieter social rhythm typical of Lincolnshire villages.
