Pytchley in North Northamptonshire is a compact, traditionally rural village set among rolling farmland on the edge of the old Rockingham Forest. It sits a few miles north of Kettering and offers the sort of hedged lanes, pockets of ancient woodland and open views that typify this part of the county.
Historically an agricultural community, Pytchley is also associated with the long-established Pytchley Hunt and retains several older cottages and a parish church that give the village a strong sense of continuity. Today the local economy remains largely rural while many residents commute to nearby towns, and village life revolves around the pub, the hall and regular fetes and community events.
