Uphill is the north‑eastern ward of Weston-super-Mare in North Somerset, sitting on the lower slopes of the Mendip Hills where the town meets coastal marshes. It’s a largely residential area of Victorian terraces and later housing, close to the coastal path and offering wide views across the Bristol Channel towards Wales, with cliffs and local nature reserves that draw walkers and birdwatchers.
Historically a separate village, Uphill still centres on its hilltop parish and retains a village feel - the medieval St Nicholas Church is a local landmark. The ward is mainly commuter‑oriented with small local shops and community facilities, while summer tourism and the conservation interest of the cliff and marshland influence local life and planning.
