Lewknor is a small village and civil parish in South Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, England, sitting on the scarp of the Chiltern Hills with pleasant views over the Vale of Oxford. The ancient Icknield Way and other long-distance routes pass nearby and the parish is partly within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, while the M40 runs through the surrounding countryside giving easy road links to Oxford and London.
It remains a largely rural community with farming, a handful of local businesses and a commuter presence, but the village core retains historic character - a medieval parish church and traditional cottages - and an active social life centred on the pub, village hall and occasional local events. Lewknor’s combination of countryside access, tranquillity and proximity to larger towns like Watlington makes it typical of attractive Chiltern settlements.
