Aston Tirrold and Aston Upthorpe are a pair of small, neighbouring villages in South Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, England, set on the rolling chalk downs just south of Didcot. The area is notable for its open downland, long-distance walking routes such as the Ridgeway, and nearby prehistoric earthworks on Blewburton Hill, which give the landscape a strong sense of antiquity and make it popular with walkers and naturalists enjoying orchids, skylarks and wide views across the Vale of White Horse.
Historically these settlements were part of Berkshire until local government changes in the 1970s, and their economy was traditionally agricultural; today they retain many historic cottages and parish features while functioning largely as commuter and local-service communities within easy reach of Didcot and Oxford. Both villages have an active village life with clubs and events, and a quiet, rural character that contrasts with the nearby modern development.
