The area covers the adjoining villages of Anston (North and South) and Woodsetts, on the eastern edge of the borough of Rotherham in South Yorkshire, England. It has a semi-rural character with stone-built village cores, local shops, schools and pubs, and good road and rail links that make it popular with commuters travelling to Sheffield and Rotherham.
Locally the landscape is a big draw: Anston Stones Wood is a well-loved limestone outcrop and nature spot, and the settlements retain a mix of agricultural and industrial heritage from nearby mining eras. Community life is active, with village halls, sports clubs and walking routes that attract families and people who value green space within easy reach of the towns.
