Binegar is a small village and civil parish in Somerset, tucked against the lower slopes of the Mendip Hills. The surrounding limestone landscape and rolling fields give it a rugged, rural character with lanes, old quarries and pockets of woodland that reflect the area's geology and long history of small-scale quarrying and mining.
Today the village has a largely agricultural and residential feel, with a close-knit community and traces of transport heritage where a disused railway route passes nearby. It sits within easy reach of larger market towns such as Shepton Mallet, which provide services while local life revolves around village activities, historic buildings and the surrounding countryside.
