Brompton Ralph is a small village and civil parish in rural Somerset, set among rolling farmland and hedged lanes. It sits near the market town of Wiveliscombe and is within easy reach of Taunton, with the open moorland of Exmoor and the wooded Quantock Hills close enough for popular walks and rides.
The village retains traditional features such as a parish church with medieval origins, stone cottages and working farmsteads; agriculture remains important but there are also commuters and a modest trickle of visitors drawn by the countryside. Local life centres on the church and village hall, with occasional fetes and community activities that help preserve a strong rural identity while adapting to modern change.
