Stogumber is a small village and civil parish in Somerset, set on the southern edge of the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, about eight miles west of Taunton. Its quiet lanes and rolling countryside make it popular with walkers and visitors, and the village is served by a station on the preserved West Somerset Railway, linking it into the region’s heritage rail network.
Stogumber has a long history visible in a medieval parish church and several listed buildings; historically its economy centred on farming and local trades, while today agriculture, rural services and tourism play a big part. Community life is strong for a village of its size, with a village hall, pub and school acting as social hubs and occasional local events keeping things lively.
