Coxley is a small village in Somerset, England, sitting where the low-lying Somerset Levels meet the rolling limestone of the Mendip Hills, within easy reach of the cathedral city of Wells and nearby market towns. The surrounding landscape of wetlands, hedged farmland and ridges makes it popular with walkers and wildlife watchers.
Historically the settlement grew from agriculture, milling and local quarrying, and the village still shows traditional stone buildings and farmsteads; in the 19th century drainage and mineral work shaped the local economy. Today Coxley is largely residential with farming remaining important, many people commuting to larger towns, and a quiet community life centred on local clubs, village events and countryside activities.
