South Horrington is a small village just east of Wells in Somerset, one of the trio of settlements locally known as the Horringtons alongside East Horrington and West Horrington. It sits on the edge of the Mendip Hills and surrounding farmland, offering a blend of rolling countryside and convenient access to the shops and services of the cathedral city.
Traditionally agricultural, the area is now largely residential with a mix of stone cottages and a number of converted Victorian buildings; village life is quietly community‑oriented and many residents commute to nearby towns for work. Its peaceful rural character and proximity to the Mendips Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty make it popular with walkers and those seeking a quieter base in Somerset.
