Mease Valley is an electoral ward in the Lichfield district of Staffordshire, taking its name from the River Mease that threads the low-lying countryside. The ward is largely rural, made up of small villages, farmland and pockets of woodland, with a landscape of traditional stone and brick buildings rather than dense urban development.
Local life has a village-centred feel, with parish churches, halls and community events playing a big part; many residents commute to Lichfield or Birmingham for work. The river and adjoining habitats are valued for wildlife and conservation, while occasional flooding and the pressures of housing and infrastructure change are recurring local issues alongside a richly layered local history reflected in listed buildings and surviving estate features.
