Quarnford is a tiny, sparsely populated civil parish in the uplands of the Staffordshire Moorlands, Staffordshire, in England. It covers a remote moorland landscape on the western fringes of the Peak District National Park and includes the village of Flash, often noted for its very high elevation and claims to be one of the highest villages in Britain; the terrain is characterised by heather, gritstone and narrow winding lanes.
Historically and socially it has been shaped by hill farming and a scattered, tight-knit community; small stone chapels and farmsteads punctuate the parish rather than sizeable settlements. Today the local economy leans on pastoral agriculture and a modest amount of tourism from walkers and cyclists exploring the Peak District, giving the area a mix of working farmland and quiet scenic appeal rather than any urban development.
