Heathylee is a small, sparsely populated civil parish in the Staffordshire Moorlands district of Staffordshire, set amongst upland moor and rough pasture on the fringes of the Peak District. The landscape is defined by heather-clad hills, winding lanes and the patchwork of drystone walls and sheep farms that give it a quietly remote, open character.
Historically agricultural, the community remains centred on grazing and smallholdings while also attracting walkers and visitors looking for low-key outdoor recreation; a handful of holiday cottages and rural businesses supplement the local economy. Social life tends to be dispersed and informal, with parish meetings and village networks helping to preserve the area’s traditional, unhurried feel.
