Cavendish is a small village and civil parish in West Suffolk, in the county of Suffolk, England. Set in gently rolling agricultural countryside, it retains a classic Suffolk character with timber‑framed and thatched cottages clustered around a village green and a medieval parish church, much of which survives and gives the place a palpable historic atmosphere.
The village lent its name to the Cavendish family, later the Dukes of Devonshire, and the church and local houses still reflect that long history. The local economy remains largely rural with farms and small businesses, while community life centres on the village hall, occasional fetes and events and easy access to nearby market towns and the surrounding lanes and footpaths popular with walkers.
