Sheet's Heath is a small area of heathland on the rural fringe of Guildford in Surrey, England. It is typical of the sandy, gorse- and heather-covered commons that dot the county, offering open views, informal walking and cycling routes and a quiet contrast to the town centre.
The heath has a long local history as common land used for grazing and recreation and today is valued more for amenity and biodiversity than industry; it forms part of the patchwork of habitats that support specialist birds and reptiles and attracts walkers from nearby suburbs. Nearby settlements are largely residential with commuters to Guildford, so the area’s importance is more social and ecological than economic, and it is managed with conservation and public access in mind.
