Brookwood is a village in the Borough of Woking, in Surrey, England, set amid pockets of heathland and woodland a few miles south‑west of the town centre. It sits beside the main rail line and Brookwood railway station gives regular commuter services into London, while nearby recreation areas such as Brookwood Country Park and the surrounding heaths give the place a semi‑rural feel.
The village is best known for Brookwood Cemetery, created in the Victorian era by the London Necropolis Company and once served by a dedicated funeral railway; the site includes a large Commonwealth war graves plot and the military cemetery. Today Brookwood is largely residential with a small local economy of shops and pubs, a quiet village community and easy access to larger employment centres such as Woking and Guildford.
