Chaldon is a small, largely rural ward and village in the district of Tandridge, Surrey, England, set on the scarp of the North Downs. Its steep chalk slopes, patches of ancient woodland and public footpaths give the area a distinctly downland character, with long views across Surrey and out towards London on clear days.
The settlement is best known for its historic parish church, which contains notable medieval wall paintings, and for a cluster of traditional flint and timber cottages that reflect its long rural history. Economically it is mainly residential, with a mix of local agriculture and small businesses and many residents commuting via nearby stations at Caterham and Reigate; socially it retains a village feel with active local groups and occasional community events.
