Frensham is a village and civil parish in Waverley, Surrey, England, set on low heathland and commons in the heart of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is best known for Frensham Great Pond and Frensham Little Pond on Frensham Common; the ponds have medieval origins as fish ponds associated with local estates and today attract swimmers, sailors, birdwatchers and walkers drawn to the open heath and pine woods.
The village retains a largely rural, residential character with a small cluster of amenities, a historic church and a community active in conservation. The local economy is driven by a mix of agriculture, tourism and commuter households (many travelling to nearby Farnham, Guildford and London), and managing visitor pressure while protecting fragile heathland habitats is an ongoing local concern.
