Hascombe is a small, picturesque village and civil parish in the Borough of Waverley, Surrey, England, set on chalk downland within the Surrey Hills AONB. The parish is dominated by Hascombe Hill, where there is evidence of ancient occupation in the form of earthworks and burial mounds, and which affords wide views across the Weald and on clear days towards the South Downs. The village retains a strong historic feel centred on its medieval St Peter's Church, a green and a cluster of largely 18th- and 19th-century cottages that contribute to a designated conservation character.
Today Hascombe remains largely rural and residential: agricultural and equestrian activity sits alongside a population many of whom commute to nearby towns or London, while local life revolves around community events, the village hall and footpaths that make it popular with walkers. Its combination of quiet country living, well-preserved historic buildings and easy access to larger service centres such as Godalming gives it a rather sought-after, close‑knit social character.
