East Ilsley is a small village and civil parish in West Berkshire, England, set on the chalk uplands of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It sits a few miles north‑west of Newbury and close to the racing and training country around Lambourn, surrounded by rolling downland and arable fields that make it popular for riding and country walks.
The settlement has medieval origins and retains a compact village core of historic cottages, former farm buildings and a parish church with Norman and later features. Historically agricultural, the local economy still leans on farming while many residents commute to nearby towns; community life is modest but active, centred on village events, the church and the rural landscape that gives the place much of its character.
