Ardingly is a compact village and civil parish in the Mid Sussex district of West Sussex, in the south of England. It sits in rolling Wealden countryside a few miles south of Haywards Heath and is notable for the tree-fringed Ardingly Reservoir and the large South of England Showground on its outskirts.
The village hosts the well-known independent school Ardingly College and has a lively community life with a church, pubs and recreational clubs; the showground brings regular agricultural shows, trade fairs and events that boost the local economy. Historically a rural market settlement with a now-closed railway station, Ardingly combines countryside attractions and leisure (sailing, birdwatching) with commuter links into London and Brighton, making it popular with families and visitors alike.
