Dent is a compact village and civil parish tucked into the valley of Dentdale in the unitary authority of Westmorland and Furness, England. It sits beneath the rounded hills of the Howgill Fells at the western edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and is noted for its steep-sided dale, drystone walls, hay meadows and a largely pastoral, sheep-farming landscape.

Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire until 1974, Dent retains a strong sense of community, traditional stone-built architecture and a quiet calendar of local music and folk events. The area is popular with walkers and cyclists, and is served by the famous Settle–Carlisle railway via Dent station, so tourism now complements agriculture alongside long-standing rural traditions.
