Ashton Keynes is a village in north Wiltshire, England, set on the upper reaches of the River Thames and threaded by a maze of smaller streams and water meadows. Much of the surrounding landscape is shaped by former gravel workings that have become lakes and reedbeds, now part of the Cotswold Water Park, giving the area a distinctive network of waterways and rich wildlife.
Historically agricultural, Ashton Keynes still shows a compact core of historic cottages and an old parish church, and the community is known for lively village events, outdoor recreation and conservation activities. The local economy remains largely rural with tourism, angling and commuting to nearby towns such as Cricklade and Cirencester, and village life centres on clubs, the school and a busy village hall.
