Broad Hinton is a small village and civil parish in Wiltshire, set on the chalk of the Marlborough Downs. It sits a few miles from the market town of Marlborough and within easy reach of the prehistoric landscape around Avebury and the Ridgeway, so the surrounding countryside has a strong sense of long continuity and wide views across downland.
Locally the economy remains largely rural - arable and pasture land, with some equestrian activity - while many residents commute to nearby towns such as Swindon. The village retains a compact, historic core with a medieval parish church and characterful cottages, and community life revolves around village events and the village hall, making it a quietly sociable spot rather than a tourist centre.
