Zeals is a small village and parish in Wiltshire close to the Somerset border, set in rolling chalk downland typical of south‑west England. The settlement comprises a scattering of hamlets, traditional stone and timber cottages and a notable country house, Zeals House, giving the place a quietly historic, rural character.
Its history includes a wartime chapter in the form of RAF Zeals, a Second World War temporary airfield whose traces are still visible though the site has largely returned to agriculture. Today the local economy is mainly farming with some small businesses and commuters to nearby towns, and the village retains social life around its church, village hall and occasional fêtes and clubs.
