Carnoustie and District sits on the east coast of Angus in Scotland, centred on the historic seaside town of Carnoustie. It is best known for the famous Carnoustie Golf Links, a championship course that draws visitors from around the world, but the area also features long sandy beaches, a working harbour and remnants of its fishing and textile past that give the town a distinctive character.
Locally the economy mixes tourism, small retail and service businesses with commuters who travel to nearby Dundee and Arbroath by rail or road. Community life is active, with volunteer groups, sports clubs and coastal conservation projects helping to sustain a strong sense of place while balancing visitor pressures during the summer and major golf events.
