Friockheim is a small village in rural Angus, Scotland, situated roughly between Arbroath and Forfar with countryside views towards the Sidlaw Hills. Its compact main street and surrounding farmland give it a distinctly agricultural setting while still being within easy reach of larger centres such as Dundee.
Founded as an early 19th-century mill village tied to the linen and textile trades, Friockheim later saw those industries decline and many buildings repurposed; it also once had a local railway station that closed in the 20th century. Today it functions largely as a residential and commuter community with local shops, a primary school and an active community life centred on clubs, seasonal events and village organisations.
