The small, uninhabited islet of Griomasaigh Deas lies off the west coast of Lewis in Na h-Eileanan Siar (the Outer Hebrides). Largely rocky with pockets of machair and tidal flats, it is often reachable at low tide and provides important nesting ground for seabirds and haul-out sites for grey seals, set within a dramatic north‑Atlantic seascape.
Its name and setting reflect Norse–Gaelic influences and the islet has long been part of the crofting hinterland, traditionally used for summer grazing and occasional small‑scale maritime activity. Today it is valued locally for wildlife, informal recreation such as sea‑kayaking and as a quiet element of the wider Gaelic cultural landscape.
