Coychurch Lower is a small community in the county borough of Bridgend in South Wales, situated just inland from the coast and close to the M4 corridor. It has a largely rural and residential character, with farmland and housing clusters, and functions in part as a commuter area for nearby centres such as Bridgend, Cardiff and Swansea.
The area has a visible sense of local history and community: the village heart contains the historic St Crallo's Church with medieval origins, while social life tends to orbit a village hall, pub and local clubs. The local economy mixes agriculture and small businesses with light industry close by, and residents benefit from good transport links and easy access to the wider amenities and heritage of the Bridgend area.
