Ewenny is a small, largely rural parish in the Vale of Glamorgan, tucked close to the county boundary with Bridgend and set beside the River Ewenny. It sits on limestone country with a scattering of farms and hedgerows, and while its quiet village character remains the area is within easy commuting distance of the M4 corridor.
The parish is best known for Ewenny Priory, a medieval foundation with fine Norman and later stonework that draws visitors and anchors local history, and for traditional crafts such as the longstanding Ewenny Pottery. Economy and community life blend agriculture, craft and modest tourism, giving the place a strong local identity despite its proximity to larger towns.
