Cilycwm is a small rural parish in Carmarthenshire, Wales, set in the wooded valley of the River Towy. The settlement clusters by an attractive stone bridge and an historic parish church, and the surrounding landscape of hedged fields, steep wooded slopes and riverside meadows is popular with walkers and anglers, giving the area a very scenic, unspoilt character.
The local economy is largely agricultural, centred on sheep and cattle farming, with seasonal contributions from tourism and river fishing. It remains a tight-knit, largely Welsh-speaking community with a number of notable historic buildings and strong rural traditions, even as it adapts to contemporary pressures such as farm consolidation and rural depopulation.
