Llangywer is a small, scattered rural community on the southern shore of Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake) in Gwynedd, Wales, a few miles from the market town of Bala and set against the rolling foothills of Snowdonia. Its lakeside setting and quiet lanes give it a peaceful, remote feel with good access to walking, birdwatching and watersports on the lake.
Traditionally centred on sheep farming, the area now mixes agriculture with a modest tourism trade centred on fishing, sailing and walking; the community remains small and largely Welsh-speaking, and a tiny medieval church and scattered farmsteads hint at its long local history.
