Llanwnda is a small, largely rural parish in Gwynedd, north‑west Wales, lying on the fringes of the Llŷn Peninsula with easy access to the coast and to the hills of Snowdonia. The landscape is characterised by rolling farmland, hedgerows and scattered hamlets rather than a single large settlement, giving a strong sense of open, agricultural countryside.
Locally the community remains strongly Welsh speaking with deep rural traditions: sheep farming and other agriculture have long been central to the economy, while heritage buildings and an ancient parish identity point to a long history. Proximity to market towns such as Caernarfon, Pwllheli and Criccieth means residents often look outward for services and work, and tourism and holiday homes have become a noticeable influence on the social fabric in recent years.
